On February 14, 2022, Bailey Pemberton answered a call for help and quickly determined that the patient was not awake and had ineffective breathing. Bailey remained calm and composed while providing clear CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) instructions, encouraging the caller to continue compressions until responders arrived. Thankfully, Bailey’s instructions and the callers’ efforts succeeded. EMS (Emergency Medical Services) arrived and transported the patient, who regained normal breathing and later released from the hospital.
For her compassion, professionalism, and exceptional implementation of EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch) protocols, Bailey is awarded Johnson County Central Dispatch Lifesaving Award.
